Thank you for allowing me to do this Artist spotlight on you, it’s an honor to speak and learn about someone with a talent like yourself. Freedom Love And Bull Ent. Is a lifestyle brand that wants to promote positivity and cultural awareness through visual, vocal, and musical art. We want to uplift up and coming creative individuals and give them a platform to share their talents with an international and worldwide audience. Shall we begin?
YJ: Can you please introduce yourself for those who are not familiar with your sound?
MF: Whats Good World! If you dont know me yet, you will soon! I go by the name of MINDFRAME
YJ: Now since we know your name can we learn a lil more about you I.e hometown, age, ethnic background, upbringing, schooling etc?
MF: Most definetly! I am from the great city of Memphis, TN. Im 24 years old. I was brought up in North Memphis and then moved to the East. Im the youngest of 5 siblings. I was raised pretty good but still found a little trouble here and there but I wised up quickly. By the age of 16 I knew what I wanted out of life, so I could not let childish and ignorant things alter or affect that. I Started out writing poetry and dancing but hiphop/rap just took over completely.
YJ: How long have you been creating music and what was the spark that made this become your passion?
MF: I started rapping when I was in the 5th grade and I fell in love with it ever since! What started the spark was basically a calling …It just felt natural, and ever since my 5th grade talent show, I knew right then and there that this is the talent that God blessed me with. It was my escape from the world and people, my ultimate stress release and I was able to be a story teller about my situations! It helped me find me…
YJ: What artists influence your sound or gets you in the mode to write ?
MF: I would have to say Kanye West, Playa Fly, Drake, and Big K.R.I.T. Good conscious music with a purpose works for me.
YJ: What are your type 5 Favorite Songs or Artist?
MF: Top 5 songs and artist is hard for me! But top 5 artist is easier.
1. Kanye West
2. Playa Fly
3. Big K.R.I.T.
4. J. Cole
5. Notorious B.I.G.
YJ: Describe your subject matter to us, and how you differentiate your self from other up and coming artist?
MJ: Easy….My main goal is to relate, motivate, and make you think! I believe this is what makes me different as well. I feel most artist are afraid to leave their “comfort zone” of being themselves and try to follow what strikes interest of the majority or commercial public, instead of being true to themselves. If you aren’t real…then your music isn’t either. People don’t make music with a purpose anymore.. Isnt that its the point of music, for it have a purpose and affect people? I like to focus on punchlines and metaphors when I deliver my lyrics..it makes it more fun and interesting to me, and I like to tell a story and give someone a feeling they can relate to. Something that would dig deep into their “mindframe” and bring up an emotion.
YJ: With us being a brand that is based off of providing positivity to those around us and their crafts, what are some words of advice you have for up and coming artists as well as for your self for the upcoming year?
MF: Stay humble, stay hungry, and stay real. My creed to myself is MIND over Matter. If you think it… you can do it. Keep God first, lace up your shoes and start chasing your dreams.
YJ: Thank you for chatting with us, and sharing light on your music, style, and creativity. The FLAB Ent. family is truly thankful for this insight and interview, and we wish you the best of luck in your career and future accomplishments.
